Hello to everyone, whether this is your first time here or not.

This is Nakatsuka from "Turf" located in Furumachi, Niigata City.

We have recently revamped our online store.

I know it sounds like it's only been two years, but please bear with me.

I think it's easier than ever to convey the concepts and worldviews of the brands we carry. (Maybe, definitely.)

I'd like to use this renewal as an opportunity to update my blog from time to time. I'll write about not only clothes but also personal matters. (Though I don't think there will be much demand for it.)

Since it's an online shop, it's unlikely you'll ever meet me in person, but I'd be honored if you could keep in the back of your mind that you bought from a person like me.

The meaning of the shop name "turf"

Let's start from here.

"Turf" means "grass." You know, there are turf courses for horse racing? That's where the name comes from. I wanted to name it after something I liked, so I started with horse racing, which I loved. (Since it opened, it's only open on weekends, so I haven't been able to go at all.)

Grass and weeds will always be there no matter what you do. Even if you spray herbicides, they'll grow back the next year. In that sense, I want them to take root forever.

The same goes for the selected items. Basically, we collect items from Japanese brands that are particular about fabrics and sewing, and items that can be used for a long time. In terms of design, we only collect items that make a quiet statement rather than something ostentatious, and can be used in any era. We want our items to become 'rooted' in the wearer's mind as they are used for a long time.

The store name "turf" has this meaning.

I know it's been two years, so it feels a little late to say this, but I'm not very good at talking about myself, and I've been embarrassed because I feel like people are looking into my mind, so I haven't been proactive about it, but I hope that this will be an opportunity for you to learn a little about me.

We still have two more years to go, and we will continue to work hard to make this a store that will "take root" with everyone, so we hope you will continue to support us.
